Add Decision Engine

The Add Decision Engine feature in the Scorport Connection Module enables users to integrate approved Scorport-generated engines into their strategies. Unlike API connections, no URL is required for this step, as the system only allows integration of pre-approved engines that are already registered within Scorport. The process includes engine selection, configuration, testing, and saving.

Steps to Add a Decision Engine

Step 1: Create a New Engine Connection

1. Open the Connection Designer module from your dashboard.
2. Click Create New Connection and select Engine as the connection type.
3. Enter a Connection Name (e.g., "Add Engine") to identify the engine connection.

Step 2: Configure the Engine

1. Select an Approved Engine:

   • Use the dropdown menu labeled Select Approved Engine to choose from a list of pre-approved engines.
   • Only engines that are registered and validated within the system will appear in this list.

Step 3: Test the Engine Connection

1. Click the Test button to validate the engine connection.
   • If a mock response is configured, the system will display the simulated result.
   • If the engine is live, the system will fetch and display the actual response.
2. Review the response to ensure the engine processes data as expected.

Step 4: Save the Connection

1. Once the test is successful, click Save to store the connection.
2. The engine connection will now be available for integration into strategies in the Strategy Designer module.

Using Decision Engines in Strategies

1. Integrate in Strategy Designer:

   • Drag and drop the engine connection element into your strategy workflow.
   • Specify how the engine's outputs will be used:
     • As Inputs: Feed the engine’s response into subsequent calculations or decisions.
     • As Outputs: Display the engine’s results for external consumption.

2. Test and Validate the Strategy:

   • Use Scorport’s testing tools to simulate the strategy and verify the engine's behavior within the workflow.
